About Nana Dish

Last updated: 23 October 2026

Nana Dish brings together recipes cooked by our Nana and recipes our readers have tried and sent to us. It is a home-cooking community built around familiar meals, clear instructions and the pleasure of sharing food.

We share recipes and food ideas for everyday cooking, with an emphasis on familiar flavours, clear instructions and inspiration from different cuisines.

The people behind the recipes

Every recipe in our collection comes from our Nana or a reader who has cooked it and shared it with us. The byline identifies the writer or editor responsible for the article; the person who cooked the dish may be our Nana or a contributing reader. We welcome questions, cooking notes and corrections.

We edit the recipes and cooking notes we receive for clarity, structure and readability. AI may help with wording and food illustrations. The recipe source remains our Nana or the reader who cooked and shared it. Suggested substitutions and later changes do not count as separate cooking tests.

Our images

We use AI-generated illustrations to present our dishes in a consistent visual style. An illustration can accompany a recipe that was cooked in a real kitchen; it is not a photograph of that cooking session. Our standard is to identify generated imagery and keep the depicted ingredients and presentation consistent with the written recipe. Read the recipe for quantities and method.
